Wow. Been a while since I've been here. Sorry. We just got back from a FANTASTIC trip to Playa del Carmen with Mom and Anika. I'll tell you a little about it and then post a bunch of pictures. I still can't believe how smoothly it all went. We left Sunday morning, and flew to Cozumel. Flying standby is always iffy although cheap. No worries though - we had 4 seats across, so Anika had plenty of people to "hold you me". She was well behaved on the flight - even napped a bit. We landed in CZM - cleared Customs and hopped a cab to the ferry. Took the 30 minute ferry ride to Playa, hopped another cab and went straight to the resort. We got adjoining rooms that shared a common foyer, it was PERFECT. True to Mexico - the maids had fashioned little towel animals - and Anika was just thrilled. We headed to the restaurant for some dinner, and Anika loved it. She loved all the variety, and the pizza, of course. The next few days were spent by the pool, kiddie pool, and on the beach. No fear of water, healthy fear of waves. The beaches really suffered in the hurricanes of '07, our resort had the most beach left of all the ones we saw. Still got to lay by the pool with pina coladas, as the little one had three sets of eyes on her at all times. By the end of the first day, as we walked to our rooms, people on their balconies were waving and saying "hi Anika....". LOL. Our little social butterfly was making friends fast! There were two little girls, 4 and 6, that Anika adopted as her 'sisters'. Everywhere we went.... "Where my sisters?!". Really cute. We left Thursday afternoon, again all seats together. This flight was a little rougher, seeing as how the Peanut was WIPED OUT. But we survived. Couldn't have done it without mom, think that will become tradition. LOL. Oh - and Anika LOVES 'pina colaladas'......virgin, of course. Now pictures.

And now - someone is up from her nap. More pics later.
